10,000 TREES PLANTED THIS MAZINGIRA DAY!

Today, G-MSF brought together communities in Kenya Njeru, Rwathia and Kayu in Kangema, Murang’a County, to plant 10,000 trees along roads, around schools and in community spaces.

But today was more than just tree planting.
We also held conversations on drug and substance abuse, creating awareness on its impact on individuals, families and the community, and the importance of making positive choices.

Women’s physical and mental wellness was also part of the day. Women were presented with games kits and footballs and encouraged to form teams that will keep them active, connected and engaged through sport — promoting physical fitness, mental wellness, peace and social cohesion.

The day brought together our Founder and Director, Dr. Margaret Gakami, Prof. Kagwanja, the Assistant County Commander, NGAO officials, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs, the National Police Service, Administration Police, Madam CEO Addah Nduta, CPA Moses Ngugi, Murang’a Technical Training Institute, Inukah SACCO, G-MSF Riruta Boys, G-MSF Mother’s, Children’s Garden Home and School, Naivas supermarket and the communities of Kenya Njeru, Rwathia and Kayu.

And as we work towards Kenya’s 15 billion tree goal, we are reminded that environmental conservation and community wellbeing go hand in hand.

The journey of greening our environment, we cannot walk alone. Thank you to everyone who showed up, planted, supported and made this Mazingira Day a success.

Small Seeds. Lasting Impact.
