What is Biodiversity?

Biodiversity is the variety of all living things on Earth, including trees, plants, birds, insects, animals and microorganisms, as well as the ecosystems where they live. Simply put, it is the variety of life around us.

Our planet is home to an incredible variety of life. Together, these living things form the foundation of healthy ecosystems and a thriving environment. But biodiversity is under threat from deforestation, pollution, habitat destruction, climate change and unsustainable human activities.

So, why does biodiversity matter?
●Healthy ecosystems: Different species work together to maintain the balance of nature.
● Food security: Pollinators such as bees support the production of many crops we depend on.
● Clean water and healthy soils: Forests, wetlands and other ecosystems help regulate water cycles, reduce soil erosion and support life.
● Climate resilience: Diverse and healthy ecosystems can help communities adapt to climate change and withstand environmental pressures.
● Protection of wildlife: Conserving natural habitats ensures that plants and animals have places to live, reproduce and thrive.

G-MSF, our environmental conservation efforts, including tree planting, river restoration, clean-ups and school orchard establishment, contribute to creating healthier environments for people and nature.Every indigenous tree planted, every river protected and every habitat restored can make a difference. However, biodiversity conservation goes beyond planting trees; it also means protecting existing forests, wetlands, rivers and the diverse species that sustain life.

Nature does not exist for one species alone. Every living thing has a role to play.Let us protect biodiversity today for a healthier planet tomorrow.

Small Seeds. Lasting Impact.
